Aim of the project:
The aim of the project is to develop the curriculum of Environmental Health Specialist at Tartu Health Care College. Applied research related to organic food is carried out within the project. The amount of pesticide residues and mycotoxins contained in organic food is examined, the macro- and micronutrient content of organically and non-organically grown food is compared, and the attitudes of Estonian parents regarding organic food offered in educational institutions are investigated.
Project outcomes:
As a result of the project, applied studies are completed, which will provide the following evidence-based information about:
1) The content of pesticide residues and mycotoxins in organic food offered in educational institutions in Tartu.
2) The content of macro- and micronutrients in organically and non-organically grown food.
3) Parents´ opinion and attitudes related to organic food offered in educational institutions.
